Photinia × fraseri

Photinia × fraseri prefers warm, humid, and sunny environments, with strong cold resistance, tolerating temperatures as low as -18°C. It thrives in strong light but also has high shade tolerance. It adapts well to various medium-fertility soils, tolerates poor and slightly saline-alkaline conditions, as well as drought, but is not waterlogged. It grows rapidly, has strong sprouting ability, is pruning-tolerant, easy to transplant, and forms well. "Appropriate" means avoiding excessive fertilization when growing flowers. Over-fertilizing or using overly concentrated fertilizer can cause dehydration in the roots, leading to gradually scorched and yellow leaves, slowly withered new buds, and eventually death. During the seedling stage, more nitrogen fertilizer can be applied to promote growth; during the bud formation stage, more phosphorus fertilizer should be used to encourage vibrant blooms and larger fruits. Loosen the soil before fertilizing to help nutrients penetrate. Fertilizing in the evening is most effective, especially in summer when high noon temperatures can easily damage the roots.
