Potential Application Areas:
1. Nano titanium carbide is used in aerospace components: it has a melting point above 3000°C, excellent high-temperature strength, good compatibility with tungsten, similar thermal expansion coefficient, and a much lower density than tungsten.
2. Nano titanium carbide foam ceramics: Foam ceramics effectively remove inclusions from various fluids as filters, with the filtration mechanism involving agitation and adsorption. Filters require chemical stability, especially in the metallurgical industry, where high melting points are necessary, so oxide materials are predominant. To adapt to metal melt filtration, the focus is on improving thermal shock resistance. Nano titanium carbide foam ceramics offer higher strength, hardness, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance compared to oxide foam ceramics.
3. Widely used in manufacturing wear-resistant materials, cutting tools, molds, metal melting crucibles, and many other fields. Transparent titanium carbide ceramics are also excellent optical materials.
