Soft fiber filler is made from aldehyde-treated polyvinyl formal fibers, processed to simulate the form of natural aquatic plants. It offers advantages such as large specific surface area, high utilization rate, variable voids without clogging, wide applicability, low cost, and reduced transportation expenses. In recent years, it has been widely used in printing and dyeing, silk, wool spinning, food, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, papermaking, hemp textiles, hospitals, and cyanide-containing wastewater treatment. To enhance its product characteristics and economic benefits, with guidance from relevant research institutions, soft fillers have been innovated into diverse forms with rational structures and improved effectiveness. They overcome previous drawbacks like limited actual surface area, breakage of central cords, and clumping of fiber bundles, thus gaining widespread acceptance among users.
Scope of Application:
The second and third-generation series products, developed through modifications, have significantly improved performance and broader applicability. Models D2, D3, E2, and E3 are suitable for aerobic treatment of industrial wastewater from printing and dyeing, wool spinning, carpets, cotton textiles, silk, pharmaceuticals, cyanide-containing, petrochemicals, as well as domestic sewage. Models A2, A3, B2, B3, C2, and C3 are designed for anaerobic treatment of high-concentration wastewater from hemp textiles, alcohol, sugar production, papermaking, food, and fermentation.
Performance Characteristics:
The modified soft filler uses twisted fiber ropes threaded through plastic discs evenly distributed with fiber filaments, forming unit fiber bundles of specific lengths. This design addresses and eliminates previous issues such as loose central cord strands, uneven tensile strength, breakage during operation, difficulty in lateral expansion of fibers in water, uneven distribution, bias, biofilm clumping, low actual specific surface area, and short service life. Tests by relevant authorities show that the modified soft filler doubles the utilization rate compared to the original. It also offers easy assembly.
