I. Introduction to Microwave Pyrolysis Principle and Technology:
A. Pyrolysis refers to the thermal degradation of materials under anaerobic or oxygen-deficient conditions, utilizing thermal energy to break down large molecular organic compounds into relatively smaller molecular compounds that are easier to handle, such as combustible gases, oils, carbon black, and other organic substances. It is a complex thermochemical process involving alternating endothermic and exothermic reactions. Pyrolysis requires absorbing a significant amount of microwave energy to heat the material itself. Once a certain temperature is reached, the material undergoes fission, achieving the goals of harmless treatment and volume reduction, while producing gas, liquid, and solid phases. The gas phase primarily consists of combustible gases, the liquid phase mainly includes pyrolytic water and pyrolytic oil, and the solid phase is primarily carbonized residue. The typical pyrolysis process lasts about one hour. Using microwaves for high-temperature deep carbonization of organic materials allows the material temperature to reach above 1300°C. The reaction atmosphere can be hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, or other gases. The main microwave equipment consists of a microwave generator, PLC detection and control system, color touchscreen display system, computer real-time data acquisition and analysis system, pyrolysis reactor, pyrolysis condensation collection system, and protective gas system.
B. Pyrolysis involves the incineration and ashing of organic materials under aerobic or air conditions. Through microwave endothermic and exothermic self-ignition reactions, the material is ashed, achieving volume reduction of organic waste. The main products of incineration are carbon dioxide and water, while the generated pyrolytic gas is treated through the condensation collection system and discharged after meeting emission standards. The solid residual ash can be used for landfill or as construction cement materials.
II. Application Scope of Microwave Pyrolysis Equipment:
General solid waste and hazardous waste, such as fly ash, slag, smelting waste residue, tailings, waste salt, oil sludge, sludge, chemical waste, coal tailings gasification, biomass pellet pyrolysis, nuclear waste, fiberglass waste, carbon fiber waste, FRP waste, etc., can be treated using microwave equipment as a new solution.
III. Characteristics of Microwave Pyrolysis Technology:
Microwave pyrolysis equipment heats materials (powder, granules, blocks, flakes, columns, or small pieces of any shape) by absorbing microwave thermal energy. Microwaves are extremely high-frequency electromagnetic waves. In a microwave field, polar and non-polar molecules within the material become polarized, turning into dipole molecules. These dipoles align with the electric field direction. Since the electric field is alternating, the dipoles rotate and vibrate accordingly. For example, at a frequency of 2450 MHz, they rotate and vibrate 2.45 billion times per second, generating an effect similar to molecular friction, thereby absorbing the electric field's energy and heating up. The material itself becomes the heat source. Thus, microwave heating involves the material heating uniformly from within. In contrast, traditional coal, electricity, oil, or gas kilns have high energy consumption, pollution, and exhaust emissions. Their heating method is external conduction, from the surface inward, resulting in long heating times, low thermal efficiency, and a tendency for coking. They require regular cleaning, shutdowns for maintenance, and frequent component replacements.
Microwave technology offers energy savings (high thermal efficiency conversion, saving over 30% energy compared to traditional heating methods), environmental friendliness (no external emissions, effectively reducing harmful substance production), cleanliness (materials heat by absorbing microwaves themselves, avoiding contact pollution, improving product quality and yield), and high efficiency (rapid heating, high energy utilization). Additionally, ZhongSheng's industrial microwave equipment can operate at temperatures up to 1600°C, with kiln temperature stability of ±5°C, high automation, effectively reducing labor requirements, and improving the production environment.
IV. Introduction to ZhongSheng Industrial Microwave Quality:
Hunan ZhongSheng Thermal Energy Co., Ltd., established in 2011 with a registered capital of 12 million RMB, is a company long engaged in the research, development, application, and equipment integration of microwave thermal technology in industry. It specializes in designing, manufacturing, and selling microwave industrial equipment. The company primarily produces multifunctional microwave experimental furnaces for enterprises and research institutions, as well as custom industrial microwave equipment. In the field of microwave applications, it holds 12 invention patents and 57 utility model patents. Its microwave heating kiln technology was selected for the National Development and Reform Commission's fifth batch of energy-saving technology promotion catalogs. Compared to low-power household microwave ovens, ZhongSheng's industrial microwave equipment is designed for continuous operation, stable production, and durability in industrial settings. It is equipped with 1.5KW industrial-grade microwave sources with continuously adjustable power, ensuring uniform, adjustable, and controllable furnace temperatures. The equipment can operate 24/7 without interruption. Additionally, it uses self-developed crack antenna energy feed devices to ensure uniform microwave fields and prevent microwave reflection from damaging the magnetrons, allowing them to operate 24/7 without shutdown. Replaceable parts can be changed online without affecting normal production. The self-developed microwave leakage protection device ensures microwave leakage does not exceed 1mW/cm² (the standard requirement is no more than 5mW/cm²), significantly enhancing production safety, while other manufacturers typically only meet industry standards. ZhongSheng's microwave drying equipment, microwave experimental furnaces, microwave high-temperature bell kilns, microwave high-temperature push plate kilns, microwave high-temperature roller kilns, and microwave pyrolysis kilns all have successful application cases.
