In terms of types, blood collection devices can be categorized into three classes: standard, safety, and needle-free. Structurally, they consist of basic components and optional components. The basic components include a sample reservoir, piston, venting device (porous plug), and additives. The sample reservoir comprises three parts: the core rod, plunger, and outer sleeve. Optional components include needles (for standard and safety types), plastic protective caps (for standard, needle-free, and safety types), rubber plugs (for standard type), and protective clips (Eclipse™, for safety type). The needle itself consists of three parts: needle cover, needle hub, and needle tube. The Eclipse™ needle of the blood collection device features a lockable protective shield. When pressed, it secures the needle tube within a concave finger grip, preventing accidental needle-stick injuries. Sterilized by radiation, for single use only.
