Outstanding Performance, Highly Flexible Performance and functional requirements vary depending on the test setup and application. The SMW200A excels in meeting a wide range of demands, setting a new benchmark for signal generators. The SMW200A's superior performance enables the easy generation of suitable test signals for the development and validation of various devices under test, such as components, modules, and complete base stations. With its flexible modular design, the SMW200A can be equipped with the appropriate options based on application needs. The instrument supports all configurations, including classic single-channel vector signal generators and multi-channel MIMO receiver testers.

Vector Signal Generator Frequency up to 67GHz

The frequency range of the single-channel and dual-channel SMW200A reaches up to 67GHz and 44GHz, respectively. The generator can also be equipped with up to two internal baseband modules and four fading simulator modules. Based on this concept, two fully functional vector signal generators are integrated into a single unit, enabling the easy creation of complex signal scenarios.

Excellent Phase Noise Performance

The SMW200A features a built-in standard high-end synthesizer, providing excellent SSB phase noise and non-harmonic performance. The generator offers multiple low-phase noise options to further enhance performance. The SMW-B711/B721 ultra-low phase noise options deliver outstanding phase noise performance. The SMW200A is exceptionally suitable for measurement applications with stringent spectrum purity requirements.

2GHz Bandwidth, Providing Excellent Modulation Characteristics

The wideband I/Q modulator with up to 2 GHz RF bandwidth covers all applications within its frequency range, including wireless communications, satellite communications, and radar. The internal baseband can generate signals with a maximum RF modulation bandwidth of 2 GHz.

State-of-the-art D/A converters and excellent RF design ensure a superior modulation frequency response of <0.4 dB within the 2 GHz bandwidth, along with excellent EVM performance.

Support for MIMO and Integrated Fading

The SMW200A features integrated channel emulation functionality with a fading bandwidth of up to 800MHz. Fading profiles for all major standards are pre-configured. The generator supports up to 64 fading channels, enabling standalone configuration of all important MIMO fading scenarios such as 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 8x4, 4x8, and 8x8. It also supports the aggregation of up to eight carriers and can connect to the SGT100A signal generator module to provide up to eight RF channels.

Special Usability Features

The SMW200A's built-in graphical functions allow real-time display of generated signals. Users can choose display types such as I/Q samples vs. time, spectrum, vector diagram, or complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF). The R&S@SMW200A also provides an SCPI macro recorder with a code generator, which can record all manual operation steps and generate files using remote control sequences. The instrument offers integrated code templates for directly generating executable code for MATLAB®, CVI, or Python.
