Overview
AL1265 is a circuit specifically designed for high-precision linear lithium battery chargers, making it highly suitable for low-cost, portable charger applications. It integrates high-precision pre-charging, constant current charging, constant voltage charging, battery status detection, low leakage after charging completion, and charging status indication, making it widely applicable in EPC, mobile multimedia, handheld devices, and other fields. AL1265 determines the charging status by detecting the battery voltage: pre-charging, constant current charging, and constant voltage charging. When the battery voltage is below the threshold voltage VMIN (typically 6V), it enters the pre-charging state, charging the battery with a small current. The pre-charging current can be adjusted via an external resistor. Once the battery voltage reaches VMIN, it transitions to the constant current charging phase for fast charging. The charging current IREG can be adjusted via the external resistor R1. Constant current charging raises the battery voltage to the constant voltage charging level VREG (typically 8.4V). It then enters the constant voltage charging state, with charging voltage accuracy better than ±1%. In this state, the charging current gradually decreases. When the charging current falls below the threshold ITERM, charging ends. After charging is completed, the battery voltage is continuously monitored. When the battery voltage drops below the threshold VRECHG (typically VREG-250mV), recharging is initiated, starting the next charging cycle.
AL1265 also allows adjustment of the battery saturation termination voltage via external resistors;
High battery saturation termination voltage can be set to the desired voltage point.
