① Vertical Installation Method
The vertical installation method for submersible electric pump units is suitable for vertical shaft water sump drainage in mines and surface dewatering drainage. The submersible electric pump is suspended in the shaft water sump. The advantages include reasonable force distribution, stable operation, small footprint of the water sump, and high drainage efficiency. The disadvantages are the greater depth required for the vertical water sump and the need for sufficient lifting space, as well as higher requirements for supporting heavy loads.
② Horizontal and Inclined Installation Methods
Horizontal electric pump units offer advantages such as easy installation, convenient lifting, and reduced construction volume for the water sump. Combined with a horizontal pump carrier and rollers, they enable rapid drainage operations.

Main Drainage: Submersible electric pumps serve as the main drainage equipment, occupying a small area and requiring minimal roadway construction. They can be installed using clamp rollers or foundation brackets in combination with a pump carrier. Installed in the pump position of the connecting roadway water sump underground, they eliminate the need for a dedicated pump room. A distribution valve is set up in the distribution roadway connecting the pump room and the water sump.
Emergency Drainage with Rail Installation: The electric pump unit is lowered to the bottom of the shaft along the rails, aiming to complete the drainage operation in one go. The pump carrier unit can move quickly within the roadway and is equipped with a flexible quick-connect coupling device. As water levels and volumes change, the submersible electric pump can quickly adjust its position, shortening drainage time. Additionally, it has minimal requirements for lifting equipment.
High-Flow Inclined/Vertical Mine Rescue Pump for Rail-Free Emergency and Productive Drainage Restoration:
For abandoned mines without rails or conditions unsuitable for direct installation of large submersible electric pumps, a combined drainage system consisting of a submersible electric pump, suction cover, pressure-resistant hose, and booster pump is used. The booster pump is combined with the main drainage pump and installed at the bottom of the main pump, feeding water to the main drainage pump via steel pipes to carry out drainage operations. The booster pump is easy to maintain and move, avoiding the suction of sediment and debris from the shaft bottom. A drainage method that combines drainage, repair, and rail laying is adopted until drainage reaches the shaft bottom.
