ZX-311 Room Temperature Blackening Solution for Steel

Room temperature rapid blackening of steel is a manufacturing technology currently being promoted. Its key features include overcoming the three major challenges of traditional blackening (bluing) processes: high energy consumption, low efficiency, and environmental pollution. It is suitable for various steel grades, such as silicon steel, cast iron, and low-carbon steel.

   I. Process Characteristics:   

  1. Operates at room temperature, eliminating the need for complex heating equipment, resulting in significant energy savings; 

  2. Improves work efficiency, allows flexible production batches, and meets production requirements at any time; 

  3. Enhances corrosion resistance compared to older blackening processes, produces no harmful gases, and is more environmentally friendly.

  II. Main Technical Indicators:  Solution Appearance: Light green concentrated liquid.  pH Value: 2–2.5 Operating Temperature: 5–40°C  Processing Time: 30 minutes, with the workpiece exposed to air for 1–2 minutes every ten minutes. Rinse three times with clean water at the end.  

  III. Maintenance and Management: Every 10 minutes during blackening, shake the workpiece up and down several times to ensure full contact with the solution. The blackening time is 10 minutes. Mastering the blackening time is key to obtaining a high-quality black film. Different materials and solution concentrations require varying blackening times. The criterion for judgment: a uniform black film should appear on the workpiece surface. Surface drying takes 2–4 hours, and full drying takes 24 hours to achieve the desired effect. Make full use of residual solution on the surface to reduce consumption of the blackening solution and lower costs. After blackening, rinse three times with clean water.

  IV. Each barrel has a net weight of 25 kg and can be diluted 1:2. Each kilogram can blacken an area of approximately 20–30 square meters.
