The Coal Mine Gas Emission Initial Velocity Tester is a throttling differential pressure flow meter that operates on the principle of flow measurement. After a borehole is formed in the coal seam, the permeability of the coal seam increases due to the formation of fractured and plastic zones around the borehole, allowing gas to flow into the borehole. It consists of a coal dust filter, housing, panel, and shoulder strap. The panel is equipped with a flow display, an intake nozzle, and a shift flow meter, which are connected via hoses and quick-seal connectors. Gas enters the flow display and shift flow meter through the intake nozzle via the hose. Due to the throttling effect of the shift flow meter, the gas pressure in the sealed chamber increases, causing the flow display pointer to swing, thereby measuring the initial gas emission velocity from the coal seam borehole.
