Vermiculite

 After undergoing a series of preliminary processes such as desanding, impurity removal, crushing, and screening, raw vermiculite ore is transformed into flaky forms, which can be categorized into No. 2 flakes, No. 3 flakes, No. 4 flakes, and No. 5 flakes. Expanded vermiculite appears in layered flakes (resembling leeches), with a specific gravity typically ranging from 100 to 200 kg/m³ (Due to the large volume of expanded vermiculite, transportation costs are high, so exported vermiculite is generally unexpanded No. 2, No. 3, or No. 4 flakes).  Based on the shape after expansion, vermiculite flakes can be classified as straight-grain vermiculite flakes and oblique-grain vermiculite flakes.

 Applications: 

1.  As lightweight materials. Vermiculite can be used as lightweight concrete aggregate, lightweight wall particle material, lightweight mortar, and for manufacturing roof panels, soundproof bricks, etc., in high-rise buildings. 

2. Vermiculite can serve as thermal insulation, heat insulation, and sound-absorbing material. 

3. Due to its high porosity, vermiculite can act as a soil conditioner in agriculture and horticulture, improving soil quality; in the metallurgical industry, it can be used to make refractory bricks and construct furnace covers for smelting furnaces. Vermiculite can adsorb oil spills in seas and rivers. It can also prevent certain radioactive contamination, providing protective effects. In the feed industry, vermiculite is a raw material for producing antioxidants, adsorbents, and preservatives, and can serve as a carrier for trace element mineral feeds. Additionally, vermiculite has the ability to inhibit mold growth and kill toxins, making it suitable as an anti-mold agent.
