Testing Institution: Measurement Control Equipment and System Laboratory of the China Instrument and Control Society Institute of Comprehensive Technical and Economic Research, Mechanical Industry Measurement Control Equipment and Network Quality Testing Center (CNAS No. L3331)
The testing institution conducts fire hazard testing services and issues CNAS test reports, CMA reports, and third-party test reports based on the following standards.
I. Test Basis and Standards
- GB/T 7261-2016 "Basic Test Methods for Relay Protection and Safety Automatic Devices" Section 17.6
- Summary: Specifies the fire hazard test methods for relay protection devices under abnormal conditions, including material flame retardancy and insulation material combustion resistance evaluation under high-temperature operation and overload conditions.
- Key Parameters: Test temperature range, duration, sample state (powered on or off).
- GB/T 14598.27-2017 "Measuring Relays and Protection Equipment - Part 27: Product Safety Requirements" Section 10.6.5.2
- Summary: Specifies flame retardancy requirements for non-metallic materials, requiring compliance with glow-wire tests (e.g., 750°C/850°C glow-wire contact for 30 seconds, no sustained combustion or flame spread).
- Scope of Application: Equipment with rated AC voltage ≤1000V, DC voltage ≤1500V, for indoor installation environments.
- DL/T 478-2013 "General Technical Conditions for Relay Protection and Safety Automatic Devices" Sections 6 and 7.16
- Section 6: General technical requirements, including equipment stability under extreme environments (temperature, humidity, pollution level).
- Section 7.16: Specifies safety performance of equipment under high-temperature and overload conditions, requiring verification of fire resistance for enclosure materials and internal components.
- IEC 60255-27:2013 "Measuring Relays and Protection Equipment - Part 27: Product Safety Requirements" Sections 7 and 10.6.5.2
- Summary: Equivalent to GB/T 14598.27-2017, requiring material flame retardancy to comply with IEC 60695-2-11 standard, with test methods aligned with international standards.
II. Test Equipment and Conditions
- Test Equipment:
- Glow-wire test apparatus (compliant with IEC 60695-2-11)
- High-temperature test chamber (temperature range: -40°C to 300°C)
- Insulation resistance tester, leakage current tracking test apparatus
- Environmental Conditions:
- Temperature: 25±5°C; Humidity: ≤75% RH
- Power supply: AC 220V/50Hz
III. Test Items and Results
- Material Flame Retardancy Test (Glow-wire Test)
- Standard: GB/T 14598.27-2017 10.6.5.2, IEC 60255-27:2013 10.6.5.2.
- Method: Apply 850°C glow-wire to equipment enclosure and internal non-metallic components for 30 seconds, observe ignition and flame duration.
- Result: Specimen did not sustain combustion (flame extinguishing time ≤30 seconds), meeting standard requirements.
- High-Temperature Operation Test
- Standard: GB/T 7261-2016 17.6, DL/T 478-2013 7.16.
- Method: Operate equipment continuously for 2 hours at 70°C ambient temperature, monitor enclosure temperature and electrical performance.
- Result: Maximum enclosure temperature ≤90°C, insulation resistance ≥100MΩ, no deformation or functional abnormalities.
- Fire Risk Assessment Under Overload Conditions
- Standard: DL/T 478-2013 7.16, GB/T 7261-2016 17.6.
- Method: Simulate short-circuit fault, apply 1.5 times rated current for 1 minute, observe if equipment ignites or releases toxic gases.
- Result: No open flames, smoke, or harmful gas release, meeting safety requirements.
IV. Conclusion
- Compliance Evaluation:
- The flame retardancy of non-metallic materials, high-temperature stability, and overload safety of the inspected relay protection device comply with GB/T 7261-2016, GB/T 14598.27-2017, DL/T 478-2013, and IEC 60255-27:2013 requirements.
- Risk is controllable when the equipment is used in indoor environments (altitude ≤2000m, humidity ≤95%).
- Improvement Suggestions:
- Regular inspection of insulation material aging is recommended for long-term high-temperature environments.
Note: This report is only responsible for the submitted samples. Test results are based on standard specified conditions; practical application requires comprehensive evaluation considering on-site environments.
