SL-3L Radar Surface Velocity Sensor

1. Product Introduction

The Decatur SI-3L radar surface velocity meter utilizes a new generation of microstrip patch antenna technology, achieving a qualitative leap in performance: the new microstrip patch antenna is constructed on a thin dielectric substrate (such as PTFE glass fiber laminate) with a metal film layer attached on one side as a ground plane, and a metal patch of specific shape (parallelogram or triangle) created on the other side through photolithography and etching methods. The patch is fed using a microstrip line or coaxial probe, forming the microstrip patch antenna. Compared to traditional conical microwave radar antennas, it offers the following advantages:

(1) Compact size, lightweight, low profile, and conformal with carriers (e.g., aircraft).

(2) Diverse electrical performance. Different micro-unit designs allow radiation patterns to be adjusted from broadside to end-fire. Easy to achieve various polarizations.

(3) Easy integration. Can be integrated with active devices and circuits into a unified module.

(4) Excellent detection accuracy with minimal environmental impact.

(5) Capable of multi-purpose detection using single-sensor three-dimensional beam sparse sub-band technology.
