Used mainly in

Organic synthesis raw materials: used for synthesizing various organic compounds, such as pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates.

•Solvent: Can be used as a non proton solvent in organic reactions.

1. Dichloromethane bromination method

Reaction equation:

CH2Cl2+Br2−>CH2Br2+Cl2CH2Cl2+Br2−>CH2Br2+Cl2

This reaction is usually carried out under the catalysis of anhydrous aluminum tribromide (AlBr ∝).

2. Reaction method of bromochloromethane and hydrogen bromide

Reaction equation:

CH2BrCl+HBr−>CH2Br2+HCl\ceCH2BrCl+HBr−>CH2Br2+HCl

This method can simultaneously produce the byproduct of chlorobromomethane.

3. Tribromomethane method (less commonly used)

The product is obtained by reacting bromoform (CHBr ∝) with sodium arsenite under alkaline conditions, followed by hydrolysis, fractionation, dehydration, and distillation.

The consumption of raw materials is high, the economy is low, and there are few industrial applications.
