I. Overview
The PC-controlled software enables on-screen display of test force, peak test force, crossbeam displacement, test deformation, and test curves, offering intuitive and user-friendly operation. Equipped with overload, overcurrent, and overvoltage protection functions, it also includes a pipe inner diameter measurement system to accurately measure changes in the inner diameter of pipes. The transmission system, controlled by a distributed control system composed of a PC and a single-chip microcomputer, drives a fully digital AC servo motor to move the crossbeam up and down at speeds required by test standards. Pressure is applied to the pipe specimen through the specimen platen. The force detection section employs a segmented linear correction method to ensure high precision and stability. This series of ring stiffness testing machines has passed EU CE product certification.
II. Working Principle
According to the standard "Determination of Ring Stiffness of Thermoplastic Pipes": the ring stiffness is determined by the force and deformation measured during constant-speed deformation of the pipe. The pipe specimen is placed horizontally, and the compression speed of the plates is determined based on the pipe's diameter. Pressure is applied vertically by two parallel plates. The reactive force generated during deformation is used to calculate the ring stiffness when the deformation in the diameter direction of the pipe specimen cross-section reaches 0.03di (where di is the inner diameter of the pipe specimen).
