Applications: Dioctyl terephthalate is a primary plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, offering excellent cold and heat resistance. It is widely used in 70–80°C heat-resistant cable materials and other flexible PVC products. Compared to DOP, it provides superior heat resistance and electrical insulation. DOTP can be used in combination with DOP in any proportion, reducing viscosity and extending service life. Products plasticized with this compound exhibit excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical insulation, extraction resistance, and flexibility. It can also be used as a plasticizer in various synthetic rubbers.
