A: During condensation heat transfer, the process primarily relies on phase change to achieve heat exchange, as the latent heat of phase change is significant, enabling substantial heat absorption or release at a constant temperature. Non-condensable gases, however, do not undergo phase change and therefore cannot absorb or release heat at the heat exchange interface. Instead, they occupy space in the gas flow and reduce the available heat transfer area, thereby decreasing heat transfer efficiency.
