High-Precision Air Dust Particle Counter and Mass Detector

The principle of a dust particle counter is based on light scattering technology. It uses a laser beam to pass through airborne particles, which scatter some of the light. The scattered signals received by the detector are then processed to determine the number, size, and distribution of the particles. During operation, an air sample is drawn in by a pump, and the particles in the sample are categorized into different size ranges. Typically, the counter classifies particles into two ranges: larger than 0.3 micrometers and larger than 5.0 micrometers.
