Molybdenum disilicide heating elements are available in two models: 1700 and 1900. They are resistance heating elements based on molybdenum disilicide. When heated to high temperatures in air, a dense quartz glass layer forms on the surface, protecting it from further oxidation.
The 1900 model, also known as the 1800°C molybdenum disilicide heating element, can reach a service temperature of up to 1850°C in air. The differences between the 1900 and 1700 models are as follows:
(1) The welding joint of the 1900 model is full, protruding, and bulging, with no cracks at the welded area, which is a major difference from the 1700 model.
(2) The surface of the 1900 model is smoother and has a metallic luster.
(3) It has a higher density. Compared to the 1700 model, the 1800°C molybdenum disilicide heating element of the same specification is heavier.
(4) The color is different. The 1700 model has a surface treatment for a better appearance, making it look black.
(5) The operating current and voltage of the 1900 model are lower than those of the 1700 model. For an element with a hot zone of 9, the 1900 model operates at 220A, while the 1700 model operates at around 270A.
(6) It has a higher service temperature, about 150°C higher than the 1700 model.
(7) It offers more manufacturing styles and can be customized to meet customer requirements.
(8) The 1900 model is more robust and generally does not break during transportation or installation.
(9) The 1900 model has a longer service life, typically exceeding 18 months.
