Shot Blasting for Rust Removal

Utilizes a high-speed rotating impeller to accelerate abrasive materials such as steel shots and steel grit, projecting them at high velocity onto the metal surface. The kinetic energy of the abrasives is converted into impact force, stripping away rust layers, oxide scales, oil stains, and other impurities from the metal surface. Meanwhile, the friction from the abrasives increases surface roughness, which aids in the adhesion of subsequent coatings.

Process Flow

Pretreatment: Clean the metal surface to remove large particles of dust, oil stains, and other impurities. Inspect the surface for defects such as dents or scratches, and perform grinding, degreasing, or other treatments as necessary.

Shot Blasting for Rust Removal: Place the metal workpiece into the shot blasting machine. The high-speed rotating impeller propels the abrasive materials, impacting and frictionally treating the metal surface to remove rust. Parameters such as the size, hardness, projection speed, and angle of the abrasives must be controlled during the process.

Dust Treatment: The shot blasting process generates a significant amount of dust. It is essential to use vacuum cleaners, compressed air, or specialized dust removal systems to clean promptly, ensuring operator health and environmental cleanliness.

Post-treatment: After rust removal is completed, clean residual abrasives and debris from the surface, trim edges, and apply surface protection treatments such as painting or hot-dip galvanizing as needed to enhance the metal's corrosion resistance and aesthetics.
