Zinc stearate

Zinc stearate is primarily used as a lubricant and release agent for styrene resins, phenolic resins, and amino resins. It also functions as a vulcanization activator and softener in rubber.

White powder, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, benzene, toluene, turpentine, and other organic solvents; decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding salts when exposed to acid; flammable under dry conditions, auto-ignition point 900°C; hygroscopic.

Uses and Applications: Zinc stearate can be used as a heat stabilizer; lubricant; grease; accelerator; thickener, etc. For example, it is commonly used as a heat stabilizer for PVC resins. It is used in general industrial transparent products; when combined with calcium soap, it can be used in non-toxic products. This product is mostly used in soft products, but in recent years, it has also been applied in hard transparent products such as mineral water bottles and water pipes. It offers good lubricity, improves scaling and precipitation issues, and can also serve as a lubricant, release agent, flatting agent for paints, and additive for coatings.
