     Technical Principles

In the absence of a catalyst, the reducing agent rapidly decomposes or volatilizes into NH₃, which then reacts with NOx in the flue gas, reducing NOx to N₂ and H₂O, thereby achieving the goal of NOx removal. When using ammonia water as the reducing agent, the main chemical reaction is 4NH₃ + 4NO + O₂ → 4N₂ + 6H₂O.

  • Ammonia Slip Rate: The ammonia slip rate of SNCR technology is relatively high, typically between 5–10 ppm or even higher. This not only leads to waste of the reducing agent but may also cause the formation of ammonium salts in downstream equipment, clogging pipes and devices. However, by optimizing equipment design and operating parameters, the ammonia slip rate can be effectively reduced.
