01 Open Category

Civil micro and light unmanned aircraft operate within a visual line of sight in suitable airspace below 120 meters above ground level, segregated from manned aircraft operations, with low operational risk.

02 Specific Category

Typically operating outside civil air traffic control jurisdiction (with some exceptions), sharing airspace with manned aircraft (especially general aviation aircraft), the flight risk is higher than the open category but does not reach the risk level of transport aircraft operations.

03 Certified Category

Generally operating within civil air traffic control jurisdiction, integrated with manned aircraft (especially transport aircraft), the flight risk is high, equivalent to that of traditional transport aviation.
