ESD Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What documents does a company need to submit to apply for certification?

ESD management manual, control plan, control procedures, management regulations, management specifications, operating methods, etc.

There are no restrictions on the format of the documents, but they must include at least the eight major requirements: ① training, ② product approval, ③ compliance verification, ④ grounding system, ⑤ personnel grounding, ⑥ EPA, ⑦ packaging, and ⑧ labeling. If these are not fully covered, the first-stage document review will not be approved.

2. How long is the validity period of the ESD certification?

Answer: The ESD certification is valid for one year. After the initial certification audit, recertification is required annually. To maintain the validity of the certificate, the client should apply for recertification before the certificate expires.

3. How long does it take to issue the certificate?

The normal processing time for issuing the certificate is generally 6 months, but the actual time may vary depending on the specific situation.

4. Can I apply for ESD certification without having obtained an ISO 9001 certificate?

Answer: It is possible to apply for ESD certification without an ISO 9001 certificate. However, during the ESD certification audit, additional audit content related to certain clauses of ISO 9001 will be required, which will increase the audit duration and cost.

5. Can ESD certification be applied for together with ISO 9001?

Answer: ESD certification can be conducted as a joint audit with ISO 9001.
