Characteristics of Service Certification

(1) Service certification is a "third-party" conformity assessment activity

The service provider is referred to as the "first party," the service purchaser as the "second party," and an independent organization with no interest in the service supply and demand parties is called the "third party." Service certification is an activity in which an independent and highly professional third-party organization verifies that a service meets specified requirements and issues a certification document.

(2) The object of service certification is a specific service

Unlike products, services are typically intangible and experienced by customers. Since the formation and delivery of services often occur simultaneously and are influenced by the interaction between the service provider and the customer, the object of service certification is a specific service provided by the service provider, rather than the service organization itself or its management system.

(3) Service certification follows conformity assessment requirements and standards

Service certification is a conformity assessment activity that adheres to the characteristics, requirements, and standards of conformity assessment. Service certification bodies must comply with relevant certification and accreditation laws, regulations, and standards in China, such as GB/T 27065-2015 "Conformity Assessment—Requirements for Bodies Certifying Products, Processes, and Services," and other related documents.
