IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management System

Enterprises suitable for IATF 16949 system certification include manufacturers of cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and their components and parts.

Enterprises not suitable for IATF 16949 system certification include manufacturers of vehicles for industrial use (forklifts), agricultural use (light trucks), construction (engineering vehicles), mining, forestry, and other similar applications.

Enterprises engaged in mixed production, where only a small portion of their products are supplied to automotive manufacturers, can also pursue IATF 16949 certification. All management aspects of the company must comply with IATF 16949, including automotive product technology. If the production sites can be clearly distinguished, only the manufacturing sites for automotive products need to be managed according to IATF 16949; otherwise, the entire factory must implement IATF 16949.

Mold product manufacturers, even if they are suppliers in the automotive supply chain, cannot apply for IATF 16949 certification if their products are not used in automobiles. The same applies to other suppliers such as transportation providers.
