Malu Chemical Plant in Jiading District, Shanghai, was established in 1954 and specializes in the production of sodium metabisulfite. The plant underwent three relocations and constructions of new facilities in September 1969, February 1986, and January 2000 to expand and increase production. The current plant site covers an area of 16,400 square meters, with a building area of 5,804 square meters.
The production equipment for sodium metabisulfite has undergone four major upgrades. Through countless technological improvements in the production process, the plant has scientifically developed a set of methods for manufacturing high-quality products, including rational layout of production equipment and processes, technical data for production, environmental protection measures, and effective operation of the quality management system. This has enabled the annual production of sodium metabisulfite to grow from 15 tons in 1954 to over 60,000 tons today.
Malu Chemical Plant operates under the factory director responsibility system. The director oversees the entire organizational structure, which includes technical directors, production directors, operations directors, offices, technical quality departments, administrative departments, production departments, equipment departments, workshops, supply and sales departments, warehouses, and finance departments. Personnel at all levels carry out relevant operational activities and management in accordance with their respective divisions of labor, defined responsibilities, and the provisions of the quality management system documents.
Benefiting from Shanghai's unique geographical advantages, Malu Chemical Plant leads the nation in product sales. It achieves the lowest material consumption per unit and the highest product yield among peers in the industry. The product quality consistently meets international advanced standards, earning the trust of customers both domestically and internationally.
