Ethylene glycol monoethyl ether

　　Coatings and Inks:

　　As a solvent to dissolve cellulose ethers, epoxy resins, acrylic resins, etc., used in the manufacture of varnishes, enamels, and printing inks to improve film-forming properties and leveling.

　　As a co-solvent in automotive paints and furniture paints to regulate volatility and prevent blushing of the paint film.

　　Leather and Textiles:

　　Used for leather degreasing and dyeing, as well as dyeing auxiliaries and leveling agents for textiles to help disperse dyes evenly.

　　Rubber and Plastics:

　　As a stabilizer for rubber latex, or as a plasticizer solvent in plastic processing to promote resin dissolution.

　　(II) Chemical Intermediates

　　Organic Synthesis:

　　Used to synthesize esters (e.g., ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate) and ether derivatives, or as a reaction medium (e.g., as a solvent in organic synthesis).

　　Surfactants:

　　Its derivatives can be used to prepare non-ionic surfactants (e.g., polyoxyethylene ethers) for detergents and emulsifiers.

　　Fuel Additives:

　　Added in small amounts to gasoline to improve combustion performance (but applications are gradually decreasing due to toxicity restrictions).
