Main Application Areas

The core function of DOP is as a plasticizer, which is achieved by embedding between polymer molecular chains to weaken intermolecular forces, making hard and brittle polymers (such as PVC) soft and easy to process. Its applications are concentrated in:

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Products (accounting for over 80% of usage):

Flexible PVC: Films (agricultural films, packaging films), artificial leather, pipes (infusion tubes, drainage pipes), wire and cable insulation, toys, gloves, etc., imparting flexibility to materials (such as the "soft and elastic" texture of PVC toys).

Rigid PVC: Small additions can improve processing fluidity (e.g., reducing cracking during the molding of PVC sheets).

Other Polymer Materials:

Rubber: Used as a plasticizer to improve the elasticity and processability of nitrile rubber and neoprene.

Coatings, Adhesives: Increase the flexibility of coatings and lower the glass transition temperature (to prevent low-temperature cracking).
