Main Uses

Polymer Crosslinking Agent: This is its most core application.

In the preparation of polyacrylamide gels (PAGE), it acts as a crosslinking agent to enable acrylamide to form gels, used for the electrophoretic separation of proteins and nucleic acids (e.g., SDS-PAGE).

Used to prepare superabsorbent resins (such as polyacrylamide-based water-absorbing resins), forming a network structure through crosslinking to enhance the material's water absorption and retention capabilities.

In the field of water treatment, it is used to synthesize crosslinked polyacrylamide flocculants, enhancing their adsorption and sedimentation effects on impurities.

Adhesives and Coatings: Participates in resin polymerization to improve the bonding strength and water resistance of adhesives; increases the hardness and wear resistance of coatings.

Medical and Biomaterials: Used to prepare hydrogels (such as tissue engineering scaffold materials), controlling the porosity and mechanical properties of the gel by adjusting its dosage.
