Main Uses

Industrial Solvent: Due to its good solubility and stability, it can be used as a solvent for organic synthesis, coatings, and inks, and is also used for cleaning precision instruments (such as electronic components).

Fuel and Additives:

It is one of the components of fuels such as gasoline and diesel (belonging to high-boiling-point components, affecting the combustion efficiency and boiling range of the fuel);

It can be used as a standard fuel for engine performance testing or for calibrating fuel-related analytical instruments.

Research Field: As an alkane model compound, it is used to study the combustion mechanism and catalytic reactions of long-chain alkanes, and is also a standard substance in gas chromatography (GC) analysis (used for calibrating retention time).

Others: Used as a raw material for preparing surfactants and lubricants, or as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
