The British McMurdo S5 AIS transponder is a search and rescue transponder used for maritime emergency rescue. It has a built-in GPS system, which can transmit its own position information to other ships, and display information such as azimuth and distance on the AIS display. It is compact in size, with a built-in self-test device that makes self-detection more intuitive and simple, and a built-in tether for free retraction.
