Additional Information

65CWY-40 Marine Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump
Structural Features of Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump
It is composed of a diesel engine, water pump, vane pump, frame and other components.
The pump is made of components such as impeller, pump body, pump cover and outlet valve. It is directly driven by the diesel engine through the directly connected pump shaft. The pump outlet valve can rotate within 180° to change the water outlet direction.
The self-priming of the pump is completed by the vane priming pump. The vane priming pump is equipped with a handle-type control clutch. During priming, it is driven by the diesel engine through a V-belt to operate, discharging the air in the water inlet pipe and generating vacuum. Priming is completed when water splashes out from the discharge port of the priming device. Release the handle to reset automatically, and the cock of the priming device will close at the same time.
Product Features of Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump
This pump set has the advantages of light weight, small size, flexible movement, rapid starting, fast water outlet time, large fuel tank capacity, corrosion resistance, reliable use, convenient maintenance and so on.
In occasions where batteries are allowed to be used, this unit can be installed with a battery starting device.
This pump has two starting modes: manual and electric, which should be indicated by the user when ordering. For pump sets with diameters ranging from φ40 to φ65, the starting modes are hand-pull starting and electric starting, and the diesel engine is vertical, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled. For pump sets with diameters ranging from φ80 to φ100, spring starter starting and electric starting are adopted, and the diesel engine is vertical, multi-cylinder, four-stroke, water-cooled. It can also be configured with air cooling as required.
Daily Maintenance of Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump
1. When not in use frequently, it must be started twice a month, and run with load for 10-20 minutes each time, so as to ensure normal operation in emergency.
2. After work, remove the water inlet pipe, outlet hose, diverter and straight water gun, dry them, put them in a ventilated place for storage, and check them regularly to maintain good condition.
3. After the water pump has been in contact with seawater, drain the seawater first when shutting down and not using it, and rinse it with fresh water to reduce corrosion on the flow-through surfaces of the water pump.
4. After using it in winter, open the drain plug to drain all the stored water to prevent freezing.
5. Check the connecting fasteners at all positions frequently to prevent loosening.
6. Maintain the diesel engine in accordance with the *Diesel Engine Operation Manual*.
Operation Methods of Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump
1. Preparation before starting: Before starting, carefully read the *Diesel Engine Operation Manual* and the *Operation Manual for CWY Type Marine Diesel Engine Emergency Fire Pump* in detail, and master the use method of the unit before proceeding.
(1) Check the oil level of the diesel engine, which should be between the upper and lower limits of the dipstick. Note that CC-CD grade oil must be used. Use CC30 or CD30 in summer, and CC20W/20 or CD20W/20 in winter.
(2) Check the oil level in the diesel engine fuel tank. Use light diesel oil, and the refueling volume should not exceed the red mark inside the filter. Do not let dust or water mix into the fuel tank. Check that the electric starting circuit is qualified.
(3) Check the oil level in the oil cup of the vane priming pump. It is strictly forbidden to use it when there is no oil.
(4) Fill the mechanical seal cavity of the pump with lubricating oil to prevent dry grinding during operation.
(5) Install the water inlet pipe, outlet hose and water gun, and close the outlet valve clockwise. The highest point of the water inlet pipe must not be higher than the pump suction inlet to prevent air from being sucked in and causing air bags in the water inlet pipe.
2. Starting the diesel engine
(1) Open the fuel tank switch.
(2) Push the diesel engine speed control handle toward the "Run" position to the middle position.
(3) Hand-pull starting: Hold the starting handle tightly with the right hand, slowly pull the starting handle until it cannot be pulled any more, then slowly release it to let it return. Press the decompression handle and then slowly relax it. Hold the starting handle tightly, pull the rope tight, and pull the rope out quickly and with all your strength (use both hands if necessary). At this point, the diesel engine has started. If it fails to start, repeat the process. After starting, run for 2-3 minutes (except in emergencies) before increasing the diesel engine speed.
Note: For electric starting, please refer to the supporting *Diesel Engine Operation Manual*.
(4) Electric starting can be used under the condition that safety is not affected. Turn the starting switch knob to start the diesel engine (when used in occasions where batteries are prohibited, this unit shall not be equipped with battery electric starting device).
(5) When it is difficult to start the diesel engine in winter, pull out the rubber plunger of the diesel engine, pour in 2CC of oil, and then plug the plunger back in.
Note: After the plunger is removed, the diesel engine will inhale dust and cause damage to it.
3. Operation of the vane priming pump
(1) After the diesel engine starts, run without load for 2-3 minutes (except in emergencies), then push the speed control handle to the lowest position to increase the diesel engine speed. At this time, push the handle of the vane priming pump away from the diesel engine to tension the V-belt and drive the priming pump to work.
(2) When water splashes out from the exhaust port of the vane priming pump and the pressure gauge pointer suddenly builds up pressure, it means that priming is completed. Slowly open the outlet valve, and water will spray out from the water gun on the outlet hose.
(3) Reset the priming pump handle, and the priming pump stops working. The cock valve of the priming pump closes at the same time.
4. Operation
(1) During operation, adjust the opening of the diverter switch as needed to make the water pump work under the required working conditions.
(2) Pay attention to check whether the diesel engine is operating normally. Otherwise, shut down the unit to troubleshoot.
5. Shutdown
Before shutting down, first push the speed control handle to low speed, run at low speed for 2-3 minutes, then push the speed control handle to the stop position. Then push the fuel switch to the "S" (off) position.
Note: Reduce the load gradually when shutting down. A sudden shutdown will cause an abnormal rise in temperature. Do not use the decompression handle to shut down the engine
