Properties

Reacts violently with water and air: It reacts instantly with water, releasing flammable gases. Meanwhile, it is extremely sensitive to air.

Flammable: In humid air, due to the intense exothermic reaction, flammable gases are released, and it is extremely easy to catch fire and explode when exposed to open flames, high heat or oxidants.

Stability: It needs to be stored and used at low temperatures.

Applications

1. Organic synthesis: Used as a strong base, it can be used to extract active hydrogen from hydrocarbyl acids without generating gaseous by-products during the reaction. It is commonly used as a strong base reagent in organic synthesis reactions, and can be used in the reduction of acid anhydrides, the formation of C-C bonds, and the synthesis of organoboron and organofluorine compounds, etc., and is widely used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates.

2. Material preparation: Widely used in the hexylation of olefins and as an initiator for polymer synthesis.

Packaging/Storage

1. 500ml glass bottles; 30L steel cylinders; 300/500L storage tanks.

2. During use, this product should be isolated from air and moisture to the greatest extent, sealed and stored in a dry environment below 2°C~8°C, and used under the protection of nitrogen or argon.

3. Avoid high temperature and impact, do not touch open flames, and do not allow contact with air and water, store at low temperatures.
