The ZW32 series dual-power circuit breakers are high-voltage power distribution equipment used to improve power supply reliability, mainly applied in dual-circuit power supply systems with AC 50Hz and rated voltage of 12kV or 40.5kV. Its core function is to automatically switch to another normal power supply when one power supply experiences power outage or undervoltage, ensuring power supply continuity.

Main Models and Features

This series mainly includes models of two voltage levels:

ZW32-12 series: with a rated voltage of 12kV. Common models such as ZW32-12GG/630 and ZW32-12FGG/630A are usually composed of a single high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker and double-sided disconnectors to form a dual-power automatic switching device. Some models adopt a "double isolation" design, that is, disconnectors are equipped on both the incoming and outgoing line sides, and are equipped with reliable interlocking devices, which facilitate line overhaul and maintenance and improve safety. The models are integrated with intelligent controllers (such as the MG intelligent dual-power switching controller) with watchdog function, which can realize intelligent management such as automatic fault isolation and load monitoring.

ZW32-40.5 series: with a rated voltage of 40.5kV, suitable for 35kV systems. This model belongs to the "primary and secondary integrated" pole-mounted switch, which deeply integrates the high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker body with the intelligent control unit (FTU), integrating protection, control, metering and communication functions.

Core Functions and Working Principles

Automatic power switching: When the conventional power supply fails, the device can automatically complete the switching with the standby power supply. Manual or optional switching can also be performed as needed.

Protection and interlocking functions: It has protection functions such as short circuit and overcurrent, and has an interlocking mechanism. When overcurrent is detected (such as the secondary current of the current transformer exceeding the set value), the device will perform closing locking and break the currently operating vacuum switch to avoid unnecessary re-power impact when the load fails. Intelligent models also have functions such as fault locking, PT disconnection locking and switch position locking.

Intelligent management (partial models): The models integrated with intelligent controllers can realize the following advanced functions:

Automatically cut off single-phase grounding faults in the user's area to avoid affecting the power supply of adjacent users.

Automatically isolate phase-to-phase short-circuit faults in the user's area, cooperate with substation reclosing, and quickly restore power supply in non-fault areas.

Quickly locate the fault point and support automatic reporting of fault information through the communication module.

Monitor user loads, and as a remote terminal with "three-remote" (remote measurement, remote signaling) functions, it can be connected to the comprehensive management system.

Support multiple communication methods (cable, optical fiber, GPRS, etc.), and can be remotely connected to the automation system.

Structure and Operation

The product structure usually includes a vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, current transformer, transmission mechanism and operating mechanism. The operation methods support manual, electric, intelligent and permanent magnet types. During installation, attention should be paid to avoiding damage to the insulators under force. When wiring, double wrenches should be used for tightening. The product needs regular maintenance. It is recommended to check the wear of moving parts of the operating mechanism every three months, remove dust and add lubricating oil to the moving parts.
