I. Introduction:
The 500X Pressure Relief/Sustaining Valve is mainly used in fire protection or other water supply systems to prevent system overpressure or maintain the pressure of fire protection water supply systems. After the fire pump is shut down, it also has the characteristic of preventing suspended particles with larger specific gravity and diameter from entering the control system, ensuring unobstructed system circulation and enabling the valve to operate safely and reliably. The system operates smoothly, has high strength and a long service life. It is very suitable for pipelines with a diameter below 600. A hydraulic control valve is a valve controlled by water pressure. It consists of a main valve and its attached pilot pipe, pilot valve, needle valve, ball valve, pressure gauge, etc. Depending on the purpose, function and location of use, it can be transformed into remote control float valve, pressure reducing valve, slow-closing check valve, flow control valve, pressure relief valve, hydraulic electric control valve, pump control valve, etc.
A filter should be installed in front of the 500X Pressure Relief/Sustaining Valve, and it should be convenient for sewage discharge.
II. Working Principle:
1. As a pressure relief valve: When the pilot valve of the pressure sustaining/relief valve is adjusted to the pressure relief state, water flows to the outlet through the needle valve, main valve control chamber, ball valve A, pressure relief/sustaining pilot valve, and ball valve B. At this time, the main valve is in the open state. When the inlet pressure exceeds the safety value set by the pressure relief/sustaining pilot valve, the pressure relief pilot valve will automatically open, and part of the water will be discharged through the ball valve C to relieve the pressure of the pipeline. When the pressure returns to the safety value, the pressure relief valve will automatically close. When used as a pressure relief valve, all ball valves are normally open.
2. As a pressure sustaining valve: When the pilot valve of the pressure sustaining/relief valve is adjusted to the pressure sustaining state, as long as the water pressure at the inlet of the main valve is lower than the value set by the pilot valve, the pilot valve will close. The main control chamber builds up pressure and the main valve closes. When the upstream water supply pressure of the main valve exceeds the pressure set by the pilot valve, the pressure sustaining pilot valve can open, the water in the control chamber is discharged to the outlet through the ball valve, the control chamber pressure drops and the main valve opens, starting water supply, thus maintaining the upstream water pressure. When used as a pressure sustaining valve, the ball valve C is normally closed or replaced with a plug!
