1. Overview

As we all know, high-voltage transmission lines are outdoor power supply equipment erected in various terrains, which inevitably lead to aging and damage. The natural wear and tear of the equipment is negligible, while the impact of various harsh environments is extremely significant, such as sandstorms, freezing rain, tornadoes, high temperatures, etc. Due to the vast land area of China, the climatic environments where transmission lines are erected are diverse, so it is necessary to monitor various environmental and climatic changes around the transmission lines. For this purpose, our company has designed the Microclimate Monitoring Station.

2. Working Principle

The "Microclimate Monitoring Station" developed by our company can monitor multiple data such as ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, air pressure, and rainfall through the micro-meteorological monitoring device equipped on it, and can transmit the data to the central monitoring and analysis system in real time via 4G wireless network, so that relevant personnel of the power department can grasp the environmental conditions around the transmission lines. If there is data that endangers the normal operation of the lines, maintenance personnel can also take timely response measures.

3. Product Functions

It has the function of data rationality check and analysis, preprocesses the collected data, and automatically identifies and eliminates interference data;

It has the function of calculating the original collected quantities to obtain data reflecting the characteristics of each meteorological parameter;

It can cyclically store micro-meteorological data at the monitoring points for at least 30 days;

It can output micro-meteorological data of monitoring points; device power supply voltage, operating temperature, heartbeat packet and other operating status data;

When it is judged that the device has a malfunction, it can take corresponding measures to restore the device to normal operation;

It has the functions of identity authentication and remote program update, and has a complete update mechanism and methods;

It has the ability to modify parameters such as collection frequency, sampling time interval, and network adapter address via remote commands;

It has the ability to dynamically respond to remote time query/setting, data request, reset and other commands;

It can enter the remote debugging mode via remote commands and output relevant debugging information;

It is equipped with a security chip, which can encrypt data and access the platforms of provincial companies.

5. Postscript

The Microclimate Monitoring Station is a device designed to solve the problem that the power department cannot judge the environmental conditions around transmission lines. This equipment was successfully installed and operated on power transmission towers in Beijing in May 2020, won the bid in Qinzhou in November 2019 and was put into use.
