Y-strainer is an indispensable filtering device in pipeline systems for conveying media. It is usually installed at the inlet of pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, level control valves or other equipment to remove impurities from the medium, so as to protect the normal operation of valves and equipment. Y-strainer features a compact structure, small resistance, and convenient sewage discharge. The applicable media for Y-strainer can be water, oil, and gas. Generally, the mesh size for water is 18 to 30 meshes, for gas is 10 to 100 meshes, and for oil is 100 to 480 meshes. A basket strainer is mainly composed of a nozzle, a main pipe, a filter basket, flanges, flange covers, fasteners, etc. When liquid enters the filter basket through the main pipe, solid impurity particles are blocked inside the filter basket, while the clean fluid passes through the filter basket and is discharged from the outlet of the strainer.
