Product Description
HH-580 is a silicone surfactant used for the production of polyether-based flexible polyurethane foam. Chemically, it is a non-hydrolyzable polysiloxane-polyethylene glycol copolymer. It is a highly active stabilizer.

Storage Guidelines
In original condition and non-extreme climatic conditions, especially without exposure to extreme heat or water, we guarantee a shelf life of more than 12 months for HH-580. The freezing point of HH-580 is below -10°C, so freezing is not a major issue, but it is recommended to bring it to room temperature before use.
Usage Guidelines
HH-580 is best fed separately. Mixing with water/amines should be avoided because phase separation may occur when the temperature exceeds 30°C.
Application
HH-580 can provide significant nucleation performance and can be used in polyurethane production with high requirements for foam structure. For example:
Liquid CO-2 used for foaming production
Foaming production with low-pressure mixing heads
Box foaming (including low-pressure mixing heads)
When all-PPG polyether is used for foaming production

Due to HH-580's efficient nucleation performance, it can produce a finer cell structure. In low-pressure foaming production, pinholes can be minimized by reducing the amount of air.
Excellent performance in nucleation allows for a reduction in air injection without sacrificing the fine cell structure.
Since HH-580 has high stabilizing performance, it is economically advantageous to use it for producing polyether-based flexible polyurethane foam. When the foam produced requires high stability support, especially when the foam density is very low or the polyether used is a polyoxypropylene polyether with a hydroxyl value of 56, this is a distinct advantage.
Although HH-580 is a highly active stabilizer, it also has a wide processing latitude. Therefore, it is suitable for the production of foams ranging from low to relatively high densities.
Formulation compositions are not fixed, for example: whether auxiliary blowing agents are used, the type of blowing agent, etc. However, 580 is suitable for all blowing agent systems currently in use, providing good stabilizing performance in both continuous foaming production and box foaming.
The better economic performance of HH-580 is reflected in two aspects: higher gas yield (common for high-activity stabilizers) and significantly thinner bottom skin. Due to these two factors, when the silicone stabilizer is changed from a conventional stabilizer to HH-580, the foam density will be slightly reduced, for example: from 31.8kg/m³ to 31.6kg/m³ or from 17.7kg/m³ to 17.05kg/m³. Even if the amount of silicone stabilizer is reduced to a certain extent, such as by 10%.
When flame retardants are added to the formulation, compared to traditional silicones such as Tegostab Bf2370, HH-580 supports the flame retardancy of the foam. When the foam produced needs to pass flame retardancy tests or is used for flame lamination, this special performance is gratifying.
