What is Fusidic acid?

Fusidic acid is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that is often used topically in creams and eyedrops, but may also be given systemically as tablets or injections. The global problem of advancing antimicrobial resistance has led to a renewed interest in its use recently.

Function of Fusidic acid

1. Fusidic acid is used for the treatment of amoebiasis, trichomoniasis and anaerobic infection

2. With broad-spectrum resistance to the effect of anaerobic bacteria and peptides, Fusidic acid is mainly used for clinical prevention and treatment of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria
