PHYTACIN^R 5000

Phytacin^R5000 contains a guaranteed minimum of 5000 phytase Units (FTU) per gram.

One FTU is defined as the amount of enzyme which liberates 1 micromole of inorganic phosphorus per minute from 0.0051 mol/l of sodium phytate at pH 5.5 and 37℃.

【Mechnism】

Most of the phosphorus (P) contained as P-phytate in cereal ingredients. The chemical name of P-phytate is myo-inositol-hexaphosphate (C₆H₁₈O₂₄P₆). One inostitol molecule can combine with 6 phosphate bases at maximum. Therefore, in general, phytate phosphorus accounts for about 2/3 of the total phosphorus present in plants seed.

Phytaic acid is a strong chelator of important nutrients such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe²⁺, Zn²⁺, protein, lipids, starch and so on. The bioavailability of phosphorus in feed without phytacin 5000 is no more than 30%, while it grows to 60% by effect of phytacin 5000, thus the output of phosphorus decreases by 30% reversely.
