Dibutyl carbonate
Other Products
Main Uses
Solvent Field:
Due to its good solubility and moderate volatility, it is commonly used as a solvent for coatings, inks, and adhesives. It is particularly suitable for systems requiring low volatility rates, as it can adjust film-forming speed and improve coating uniformity.
At the same time, it has good solubility for polymers (such as cellulose resins, polyvinyl chloride, etc.) and can also be used as a plasticizer or additive in plastic processing.
Organic Synthesis Intermediate:
It can be used to synthesize other carbonates (such as dimethyl carbonate, diphenyl carbonate) through transesterification reactions, or participate in reactions as an alkylating agent for the preparation of pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates.
In addition, in lithium-ion battery electrolytes, dibutyl carbonate can be used as an additive to improve the low-temperature performance and safety of the electrolyte.
Other Applications:
Due to its low toxicity and good compatibility, it can be used as a solvent or carrier in cosmetic formulations; it can also serve as an extractant to separate and purify certain organic compounds.
