983F Inverted Bucket Steam Trap
I. Introduction:
The 983F inverted bucket steam trap operates on the principle of the density difference between condensate and steam. Its internal structure consists of a lever system connected to an inverted bucket, which overcomes steam pressure. The core component of the inverted bucket steam trap is an inverted bucket that acts as a liquid level sensing element, with its opening facing downward. When the device first starts up, air and low-temperature condensate are present in the pipeline, at which point the trap is fully open, allowing air and low-temperature condensate to be discharged quickly, and the device warms up rapidly. When steam enters the inverted bucket, it generates upward buoyancy, and the inverted bucket, connected to a lever, drives the valve core to close the valve. A small hole is drilled in the inverted bucket to automatically exhaust air. When a portion of the steam is discharged through this small hole, another portion of the steam condenses into water, causing the inverted bucket to lose buoyancy and sink downward. The inverted bucket, connected to the lever, drives the valve core to open the valve. When steam enters the inverted bucket again, the valve closes once more, creating a cyclic operation that intermittently discharges water.
II. Product Features:
1. All moving parts inside the cavity are made of stainless steel, providing wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
2. Since steam cannot reach the valve seat hole sealed by water, there is no steam loss, resulting in high efficiency and energy saving.
3. The inverted bucket design prevents it from being crushed or damaged, making it resistant to water hammer and ensuring a long service life.
4. The top of the inverted bucket is equipped with an exhaust hole, offering excellent continuous air exhaust performance and preventing cold lag and air blocking.
5. The inverted bucket steam trap is not affected by backpressure and functions well even under high backpressure.
6. The inverted bucket steam trap operates reliably, with only two moving parts (the lever and the inverted bucket), so it is less prone to jamming.
7. The valve seat and valve disc are located at the top of the valve. The valve disc allows dirt to pass through during switching, providing good self-cleaning performance and no dirt-related issues.
III. Installation:
1. The steam trap should be installed below the heating equipment to facilitate the automatic inflow of condensate.
2. Before installing the steam trap, the pipeline should be purged with steam to remove debris inside.
3. Install it according to the flow direction marked on the valve body.
4. Mechanical steam traps should be installed horizontally.
5. When installing a steam trap, it is generally necessary to consider installing a bypass valve and a test valve.
6. Some steam traps do not come with a built-in filter, so a Y-strainer should be considered for installation.
7. The steam trap should be insulated; for bimetallic steam traps, approximately 1 meter of bare pipe should be left exposed.
