YJ-5009A Total Volatile Basic Nitrogen Analyzer (Semi-micro Kjeldahl Method) is an instrument developed in accordance with the device requirements of the first method (semi-micro Kjeldahl method) in the national standard "National Food Safety Standard - Determination of Volatile Basic Nitrogen in Foods" (GB5009.228—2016). Total volatile basic nitrogen is an alkaline nitrogen-containing substance such as ammonia and amines produced by the decomposition of proteins in animal foods during spoilage under the action of enzymes and bacteria. Total volatile basic nitrogen is volatile, it is distilled out in an alkaline solution, absorbed by boric acid solution, and then titrated with a standard acid solution to calculate its content.
