Cutting fluid is an industrial liquid used in metal cutting and grinding processes to cool and lubricate tools and workpieces. It is scientifically compounded with a variety of super-functional additives, and has good cooling performance, lubrication performance, anti-rust performance, oil removal and cleaning function, anti-corrosion function and easy dilution characteristics.
When adding cutting fluid to the machine tool, workers should first conduct an appearance check including the color and smell of the cutting fluid. These can intuitively reflect the basic state of the cutting fluid, and then use a refractometer to detect the concentration of the cutting fluid. The appropriate concentration can ensure that the cutting fluid plays a good role in lubrication and cooling. The detection should be carried out once a day (refractometer method). The concentration for replenishment is determined according to the actual on-site concentration, generally half of the recommended use concentration. Then, detect and monitor the pH value of the cutting fluid with pH test paper to control the change of the pH value of the cutting fluid; a sudden large change in pH value usually indicates a change in other properties of the cutting fluid. The detection must be carried out at least once a week (pH test paper); the pH value should be kept between 8.5 and 9.5, and a drop in pH value usually indicates the growth of bacteria in the cutting fluid and a decline in anti-rust performance.
