Antioxidant 1010

I. Physical Properties:

Appearance: White to slightly yellow powder

Melting point range: 110°C - 125°C Molecular weight: 1178

Irganox 1010 has three crystalline forms with the following melting point ranges:

Form A: 120°C - 125°C

Form B: 110°C - 115°C

Form C: 115°C - 120°C

The melting point range of the product may vary depending on the proportion of different crystalline forms during mixing, but this does not affect the efficacy of Irganox 1010.

II. Characteristics: Irganox 1010 is a highly effective, low-staining stabilizer used in various organic compounds such as plastics, synthetic fibers, elastomers, paraffin, lubricating oils, and lubricants. It protects these materials from thermal oxidative degradation. Irganox 1010 has good compatibility, high resistance to extraction, and low volatility. It is also odorless and tasteless.

III. Applications:

● Irganox 1010 is used in polyolefins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, and other polymers like polyacetal resins, polyamides, and polyurethanes. It can also be used in polyesters, polyvinyl chloride, crystalline polystyrene, high-impact polystyrene, ABS, SBS resins, elastomers such as EPM and EPDM, other fully synthetic rubbers, adhesives (natural and synthetic adhesive resins), and other organic materials.

● Irganox 1010 can be used in combination with other additives such as auxiliary antioxidants (sulfides, phosphites), light stabilizers, and antistatic agents. The combination of Irganox 1010 and Irgafos 168 (Irganox B-blends) shows extremely significant effects.

Antioxidant 168

I. Introduction

Antioxidant LY-9601 (i.e., 168) is a processing stabilizer for polyolefins with high water resistance, low volatility, and excellent thermal stability.

English name: Tris-(2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl) phosphite

Molecular weight: 646.89 C(CH3)3

Physical Properties

White powder or white crystalline powder, soluble in benzene, chloroform, dichloroethane, almost insoluble in water, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic.

II. Technical Specifications

The above specifications are equivalent to the new 1994 specifications for Irgafos 168 by Ciba-Geigy, Switzerland.

III. Storage and Packaging

Store in a dry, low-temperature environment with a minimum shelf life of one year. Packed in cardboard drums lined with two layers of PE film, net weight 25 kg per drum.

IV. Performance and Applications

This product is an excellent auxiliary antioxidant of the phosphite type. It is used in combination with antioxidants such as 1010, 1076, and 3114 to form composite antioxidants, showing excellent synergistic effects. It also has good synergy when used with hindered amine light stabilizers. This product is widely used as a processing stabilizer and thermal-oxidative stabilizer for polyolefins, polystyrene, ABS resins, and polycarbonates. It is particularly suitable for the production and post-processing of PE film materials and PP, and can be used in food-contact plastic products. Recommended dosage: 0.1–0.2%.

Antioxidant 1076

Chemical name: Octadecyl 3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate

Chemical formula: C35H52O3

Properties: White crystalline powder, odorless, tasteless, soluble in esters, slightly soluble in water.

Applications: High antioxidant efficiency, non-staining, low volatility, particularly effective for methacrylates. Widely used in polyethylene, polystyrene, ABS resins, polyvinyl chloride, nylon, polyesters, polyurethanes, cellulose plastics, various rubbers, and petroleum products.

Appearance: White crystalline powder.

Melting point: 49°C - 54°C

Ash content: 0.1%

Volatile content: 0.5%

Color number: 25 APHA

Packaging and storage: 20 kg, 25 kg, 40 kg. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place, avoid moisture and heat.

Antioxidants B215 and B225, processing and long-term thermal stabilizer systems. IRGANOX B215 is a synergistic mixture of IRGANOX 1010 and IRGAFOS 168, composed of a hindered phenol and phosphite complex.

IRGANOX B215 is suitable for polyolefins and olefin copolymers, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, and EVA copolymers. It can also be used in engineering plastics, styrenic homopolymers and copolymers, polyurethanes, elastomers, adhesives, and other organic matrices. It can also be used in combination with TINUVIN and CHIMASSORB series light stabilizers.

Its effectiveness is also enhanced when used with other CIBA additives (e.g., sulfides). The mixture of IRGANOX 1010 and IRGAFOS 168 with HP136 shows significant effects.
