Additional Information
UK FRASER Explosion-Proof Ion Air Knife, Explosion-Proof Ion Air Knife,
Suitable for hazardous areas—ATEX explosion-proof certified;
1. Strong dust removal and static elimination performance—powerful ionization for static elimination, rapid laminar airflow to clean surfaces;
2. Excellent static neutralization performance—non-turbulent laminar flow limits ion recombination in the air;
3. Powerful air knife—air amplification ratio of 20:1;
4. Easy to operate;
5. Safe and shock-free.
The FRASER EX5100 Explosion-Proof Ion Air Knife generates rapidly moving ionized air to neutralize static electricity and blow away contaminants. Commonly used for cleaning plastic parts, removing dust, eliminating static, and preventing re-adsorption. ATEX certified, it is a high-performance static eliminator for use in hazardous areas. Suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.
Performance:
* Now certified for gas groups IIA and IIB
* The EX1250 uses a resistive coupling design for high-speed neutralization of large static charges.
* Designed for hazardous areas with high ionization performance.
Powerful ionization eliminates static charges held by dust, ensuring rapid laminar airflow for thorough surface cleaning.
Non-turbulent laminar flow limits ion recombination in the air, providing excellent static neutralization performance.
Compressed air amplification up to 20:1, meaning 1 liter of compressed air can generate up to 20 liters of rapidly moving air.
Two sizes of ion air knives available—compact EX5000 and standard EX5100.
Reliability:
Equipped with EX1250 explosion-proof static elimination bar and air knife assembly.
Easy to use: Simple and standardized installation.
Airflow velocity is adjusted via inlet pressure, ranging from 1Bar to 7Bar. For example, at 5 Bar pressure and a distance of 150mm, airflow speed is 70m/sec. Cleaning distance is between 100mm and 150mm.
Compressed air should be clean and dry.
To reduce compressed air consumption, it is recommended to install an airflow control sensor for purge-only operation when needed.
Working Principle
Compressed air is ejected at high speed through the air knife slit, entraining surrounding air to generate a high-flow, rapidly moving airstream. The airflow passes through the static elimination ion bar, where it is ionized, and the ionized airflow is used to neutralize static electricity.
Technical Specifications
Construction: Aluminum air knife, EX1250-S explosion-proof static elimination ion bar
Length:
Standard sizes: Model EX5000: 150, 300, 450, 600, 750, and 900mm.
Model EX5100: 80, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 450, 500, 600, 750, 800, 900, 1000, 1200, and 1300mm.
Cable: Standard 2m HT cable, long cable option 10m
Temperature: 60°C
Safety: Complies with OSHA and international standards; high-voltage power supply current is 5mA. High voltage within the ion bar further limits current to below 50μA
Compressed air: Should be clean and dry; compressed air interface: 1/4” BSP
Power supply: Uses Fraser 5.5kV 50/60Hz explosion-proof power supply
Compressed Air Consumption

Compressed air consumption (L/min per cm of air knife) 19 22 27 33 39 45
1) Piping and compressed air supply: Must be capable of providing sufficient air volume.
2) Maximum pressure is 7 bar. Common operating pressure is 5 bar.
3) It is recommended to use a sensor to reduce compressed air consumption—purge only when products pass by.
