I. Instrument Overview
Since the main contact area between the wheel tread and the rail top surface is a 1:20 slope, the rail should also have an inward inclination to ensure axial force distribution on the rail top surface, thus forming the rail cant. Setting a rail cant helps concentrate rail contact on the central part of the rail top, improving the lateral stability of the rail, reducing uneven wear on the rail head, and minimizing plastic deformation of the rail head to extend its service life. Since 1965, the standard rail cant for straight sections of Chinese railways has been uniformly changed from the original 1:20 to 1:40.

IV. Usage Instructions
1. Fully charge the instrument before use. Use the dedicated charger provided by the manufacturer and insert it into the charging port. When the indicator light on the charger changes from red to green, the instrument is fully charged. A full charge allows 8-10 hours of use, and charging takes 3-5 hours.
Note: Always use the dedicated charger provided by the manufacturer.
2. During use, first turn on the power switch of the instrument. As shown in the figure above, place the instrument's working surface against the rail measurement point to take a reading. The normal reading range is -1:10 to +1:10 or -10° to +10°. Readings outside this range will cause the instrument display to flash.
3. After use, return the instrument to its dedicated case to prevent loss of accessories.
4. If the instrument is not used for an extended period, charge it regularly to avoid battery damage.
Note: Before measurement, clean the rail bottom surface to ensure accurate measurement by the device.
