I. Overview
In electrified railways, electric locomotives obtain electrical energy from the catenary through the pantograph. Contact wire deformation, vibration, resulting alternating stress changes, locomotive operating modes, and current collection conditions, among other factors, cause wear on the contact wire. Local wear of the contact wire significantly impacts its economic and operational performance. When the wear reaches a certain extent, it can lead to wire breakage, directly affecting power supply safety.
To ensure the operational safety of railway electric locomotives, this instrument enables continuous measurement of contact wire wear and damage. It addresses the inefficiency and incomplete coverage issues associated with manual, periodic, and fixed-point observation of contact wear and arc damage on contact wires.
II. Composition
The FTJC-6 Catenary Wear Continuous Measuring Instrument consists of two main parts: the measuring end and the control end. The measuring end primarily performs continuous measurement of rigid contact wire wear. The control end mainly controls the measuring end to conduct wear measurements and receives measurement data for display. Data transmission between the measuring end and the control end utilizes Zigbee technology for wireless communication.
