Key Material Selection for Anode Rapping Hammers The working environment of anode rapping hammers is harsher than that of cathode rapping hammers: they must withstand greater impact loads (due to the heavy weight of the anode frame) and higher dust concentrations (the anode plate is the core dust collection area, with nearby dust concentrations reaching 200-500g/m³). Therefore, the material requirements for strength, wear resistance, and impact toughness are more stringent, and the material differences between various components are significant:

 1. Hammer Body (Core Wear Component) • Conventional Choice: ZGMn13 High Manganese Steel (Austenitic High Manganese Steel) ◦ Characteristics: Rapid surface hardening upon impact (hardness HB500+), excellent impact toughness (σb≥900MPa), suitable for medium to low dust concentration conditions (e.g., power plant boiler dust removal), service life of 1-2 years. ◦ Limitations: Moderate wear resistance without impact, not suitable for long-term grinding by fine dust. • Upgraded Choice: High Chromium Cast Iron (Cr20-Cr28) ◦ Characteristics: Room temperature hardness HRC58-65, wear resistance 2-3 times that of high manganese steel, suitable for high concentration and fine dust conditions (e.g., cement kiln tail dust removal, metallurgical dust), service life of 2-3 years. ◦ Limitations: Slightly lower toughness; impact speed must be controlled to avoid fracturing. • Premium Choice: Bimetal Composite (e.g., Q345 Base + High Chromium Cast Iron Cladding) ◦ Characteristics: Base ensures impact toughness, cladding provides high wear resistance, balancing "impact resistance + wear resistance," service life of 3-4 years, suitable for extreme wear conditions (e.g., blast furnace gas dust removal).

 2. Hammer Arm and Pin Shaft • Hammer Arm: Made from 45# steel with quenching and tempering (hardness HB220-250) or 20CrMnTi alloy structural steel (carburized and quenched, surface hardness HRC55-60), ensuring high strength and fatigue resistance to prevent bending and fracture during rapping. • Pin Shaft: Made from 40CrNiMoA high-strength alloy steel (quenched and tempered, hardness HRC38-42), paired with tin bronze bushings (ZCuSn10P1) to reduce rotational wear and extend service life.

 3. Rapping Anvil and Bearing Housing • Rapping Anvil: Material matched to the hammer body (e.g., high manganese steel or high chromium cast iron), surface ground (roughness Ra≤3.2μm) to ensure flat impact surfaces and avoid uneven wear. • Bearing Housing: Made from cast steel ZG270-500 (higher strength than gray cast iron), compatible with deep groove ball bearings (e.g., 6310), and equipped with labyrinth + fluororubber seal ring dual sealing to prevent dust ingress into the bearing.
